On Tuesday 17 December, one of your Community Safety and Engagement Officers (CSEOs) was in #Tilbury.

PC Rodriguez-Perez attended St Mary's Primary school, together with a local coach (Coach James) and Founder of 'BBall Fundamentalz'.

BBall Fundamentalz have created a Thurrock initiative called 'Hoop it up'. Created to help make basketball more accessible in Primary schools across the district.

PC Rodriguez-Perez engaged with the children at the school and assisted Coach James with running the basketball session, and was encouraged to take on the 'Gone in 60 Seconds' challenge.

P.E. teachers from across four schools across Thurrock took part:

- Abbots Hall Primary

- Purfleet Primary

- Stifford Clays Primary

- St Mary's Primary

The challenge; to get as many baskets in 60 seconds, with the winner receiving some wonderful prizes!

St Mary's Primary was the last school to be visited... the score to beat was 6.

Mr Capper won first place, after securing 8 baskets.

Thankfully, PC Rodriguez-Perez did himself proud, managing to secure 7 baskets!
